Last week we considered research on how to \u201cteach\u201d or \u201cfacilitate learning\u201d with social media among various groups in various contexts such as K-12 education, college students, adults, and teachers as learners in teacher education.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This week we\u2019ll consider the discussions we\u2019ve been having about \u201c<\/span>mind<\/strong><\/span>\u201d (various theories, aspects and types of learning) and \u201c<\/span>media<\/strong><\/span>\u201d (broad and specific social media and media generally) in \u201c<\/span>society<\/u><\/strong><\/span>\u201d as we consider\u00a0<\/span>policy<\/u><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0perspectives in our discussion.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0<\/span>What role do we as researchers play in informing and influencing policies?<\/em><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0<\/span>What policies do we need?<\/em><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

– What\u00a0<\/span>controversies exist in the policy realm related to our topic?\u00a0<\/em><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

– How do we think about educational technology policy in the broader context of U.S. educational policy?<\/span><\/em>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>These readings raise some of these questions.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
